The Truth About Leadership

Leadership is not about being in charge. Leadership is about taking care of those in your charge.

I remind myself every day of my personal responsibility as a leader to live out this quote for those who are in my circle of care.  I challenge each of you to live out the same to the best of your ability.  Staff who watch you “do” your work each day are keenly observant of how you treat and interact with co-workers, especially if a “strained” relationship.  It is essential we extend greater empathy when the relationship is rocky so all staff can consistently see that no matter who you interact with, every person is safe within your care.
